Have Your Website? Great! How’s Your Social Media?

Social media is valuable for any business, let alone businesses with websites. It’s undeniable at this point, especially when social networking is now an integral part of millions of lives around the world. In fact, social media is a lot more prevalent than most think. For every person who doesn’t use a social network profile, there’s at least twenty more who do.

Here are a few facts, from the past two years, that express just that:

Social Networking World Map

  • At least 1 billion+ people populate Facebook, as of May 2013.
  • At least 300 million+ are using the social networking alternative Google+ each day, as of May 2013.
  • Around 100 million+ people are actively tweeting their thoughts on Twitter—though the site itself hosts around 500 million registered accounts.
  • At least 200 million+ people are now networking via LinkedIn.

Businesses now have many promotion opportunities, just by choosing to take advantage of social media marketing. Through social media networks, businesses can directly reach the prospect consumers that may want to purchase their products and/or services.

It more or less cuts out the ‘middleman’ of having consumers find a business website via a search engine. In other words, it simplifies the social media marketing process for businesses who can’t fully utilize an Internet marketing company. Social Media Marketing can be entirely self-managed by business owners that are willing to take at least 60 minutes each day and dedicate it to their online presence.

Using social media integration

Social media integration is known as the act of ‘spreading brand awareness across notable social media platforms.’ To make this strategy work, businesses have to actually maintain an active presence on social media platforms.

Businesses who actually update, interact and inform their consumers are more likely to make more sales conversions than businesses who arrange a profile and don’t revisit them in the future.

How can a business get more involved in social media? Getting more ‘integrated with social media’ involves:

  • Posting several times a day on social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Interacting and engaging with users, which can include posting and answering questions.
  • Creating interesting content to syndicate and share with potential consumers via social media.

One of the easiest ways to get started involves placing social media sharing buttons on a business website. Each social media network offers their users special buttons to attach to their websites and/or web pages, which encourages them and their visitors to share content across their platforms.

As a result, this can help expose your brand to other people across different search engines, subsequently making it appear much higher in most search engine results pages (“SERPS”).

So that’s it! If you have a business, and a website, and haven’t gotten on social media yet? GET ON IT!
